Oatmeal Triple Chocolate Cookies

If you are looking for a cookie to bake this Christmas season, this recipe is absolutely the best one for you. Not only that this is easy to bake, it’s also an ideal Holiday treat for your families and friends. 

These delectable oatmeal triple chocolate cookies have the perfect balance of sweetness that came from the semi sweet chocolate chipits and M&M’s chocolate milk mini baking bits.

In addition to this, it has a perfect combination of crispness on the outside, chewy and chocolatey on the inside.

Finally, this recipe is filled with texture since it’s packed with tons of oats. In addition to that, it’s loaded with chocolate flavor that will satisfy any chocolate lover’s sweet tooth.

Ingredients needed to make this recipe

  • Rolled Oats – or sometimes called Old fashioned oats. This provides chewy, nutty texture and flavor to oatmeal cookies. They are also thicker than quick oats (instant oats).
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Cocoa Powder – sifted
  • Granulated Sugar & Brown Sugar
  • Egg – room temperature
  • Butter – room temperature (softened)
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • Vanilla
  • Chocolate Chipits – semi sweet
  • M & M’s milk chocolate mini baking bits

How to make:

  • Combine flour, sifted cocoa powder, baking soda and salt, set aside.

  • In large mixing bowl, add you butter, brown & white sugar and beat them together until creamy. Next, add in your egg and vanilla, beat until smooth and combined.
  • Gradually add your flour mixture, oats then followed by your chocolate chips and M&M’s baking bits. Mix until it forms into a dough. 

  • Let it rest
  • Pre-heat your oven to 350 degree F or 176 degrees C
  • Line you baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Scoop your cookie dough and drop it two inches apart

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes in the center rack of your oven.
  • Cool completely and ENJOY!!

Oatmeal Triple Chocolate Cookies TIPS:

  • When making a drop cookie dough recipe, DO NOT over cream the fat and sugar. It causes to aerate the cookie dough too much, and it makes them puff in the oven and fall into a flat, greasy pancake like cookie.
  • It is important to use room temperature butter when creaming.
  • Do not overmix the dough – over mixing will give you a dry, crumbly and hard cookies.
  • Flatten the cookie dough balls slightly if you prefer flatter cookies
  • Leave enough space in between cookies, place them 2 inches apart when baking
  • Always refrigerate cookie dough while the rest bakes

MAKE AHEAD & FREEZING INSTRUCTIONS:

DOUGH

  • The dough can be made and covered, chilled for up to 24 hours, then form the dough into balls.
  • Place it on a plate & chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Once it’s chilled, put the dough balls into a freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • When ready to bake, put your dough balls in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake according to instruction, adding 2 more minutes in the baking time.

BAKED COOKIE

  • Baked cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months as well. Make sure to cool it completely before freezing.
  • Thaw the cookies in the fridge, then bring it to room temperature before ENJOYING!!
