Delicious Apple Cranberry Stuffing Recipe for Holiday Feast

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Sausage
  • 1 large Apple - diced
  • 3/4 cup Dried cranberries
  • 2 stalks Celery - diced
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 medium Onion - diced
  • 2 tbsp Sage - minced (fresh or dried)
  • 2 tbsp Rosemary - minced (fresh or dried)
  • 2 tbsp Parsley - minced (fresh or dried)
  • 2 cups Chicken stock or water
  • 6 cups Dry bread crumbs
  • 4 tbsp Melted butter
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Set aside and spray the baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large pan, saute onion, and celery over medium heat until softened.
  • Add sausage & break as it browns. Once sausage is cooked through, season with salt, and pepper and stir in fresh herbs.
  • Then stir in diced apples, cranberries, bread crumbs, and chicken stock.
  • Transfer the stuffing mixture to a 9 X 13 baking pan, drizzle melted butter over the stuffing mixture, and cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake for 25 minutes covered, then for another 20 minutes uncovered until the stuffing is lightly toasted.
  • Optional: Sprinkle with additional fresh herbs before serving
